Mansion House Memory Project

The Mansion House Memory Project is asking people who have a personal connection with the Mansion House to share their stories, photos and memorabilia on Saturday 23rd May and Wednesday 27th May from 10.30am to 4.30pm at the Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2. Dublin City Public Library’s Learning Bus will be on the forecourt to record everyone’s tales and scan photos.

The Mansion House Memory project is part of the Mansion House 300 celebrations which is a year-long programme of events to celebrate 300 years of the House being the official residence of the Lord Mayor. The Mansion House are working with Dublin City Public Libraries on this project which is in association with Bealtaine 2015.

“I would encourage anyone who has any memories of their experience in the Mansion House or any photographs to come along and be a part of this project. It is so important to record people’s first-hand experiences of the Mansion House and get the personal accounts that sometimes don’t get heard. Oral accounts are vital historically and will add to the 300 year story of Dublin’s finest house. I would also like to invite these people to come into the Mansion House and walk through it and maybe make some new memories of this very special house” said the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Christy Burke.

The Mansion House will also be open on both days (Saturday 23rd and Wednesday 27th May) from 12pm to 4pm for walk-through viewings.
