The North and North-Eastern areas of Dublin, together with South Fingal, Baldoyle, Sutton and Howth, had experienced a declining water service for many years. In addition, there has been a significant increase in development and this requires significant additional water infrastructure.

Dublin Region Watermains Rehabilitation Project

The Dublin Region Watermains Rehabilitation Project has been established to assist in reducing leakage by identifying and replacing the old water mains that have outlived their usefulness. It is estimated that up to 800km are over 80 years old.
