Message from Ardmhéara Mícheál Mac Donncha

On behalf of the people of Dublin City and on my own behalf, I wish to thank and commend all those who worked so hard during the severe weather emergency and by their efforts ensured the safety of the public.

Dublin City Council staff, all the emergency services and those in statutory and voluntary bodies worked tirelessly to minimise the impact of the severe weather conditions. The work done to provide shelter for those experiencing street homelessness was especially important and all involved deserve recognition.

Across Dublin people in local communities came together to lend a hand by checking on vulnerable neighbours, helping with transport of essential workers such as hospital staff and clearing roads in housing estates. This is the real spirit of our communities in Dublin
