• Launch of Co-Cup Deposit and Return Scheme in Dublin

    Dublin City Council in collaboration with Dublin City University, Trinity College Dublin and 2GoCup Ltd. launched the pilot Co-Cup Deposit and Return Scheme in the City Council’s Civic Offices, Wood Quay on Monday, 8th April 2019. 

    Under the pilot scheme when someone purchases a tea/ coffee, there is an additional charge of €1 – a deposit for the cup and when they return their cup they get their €1 back. A lid can also be purchased for €1, which can be kept and re-used.

  • Vienna Model of Housing Exhibition

    Planning and housing experts are examining Ballymun’s potential as a European leader for innovative housing development, today, as part of the Vienna Model of Housing exhibition, taking place in Dublin until 25th April.

    The exhibition seminars taking place in Ballymun are focused on the development of community and environmental strategies required to support a holistic approach for the provision of housing for all.

  • Mark Dion: Our Plundered Planet. 

    4th April – 1st September 2019

    Hugh Lane Gallery is delighted to present the first solo museum exhibition in Ireland by US artist Mark Dion entitled Our Plundered Planet. This exhibition addresses the serious and topical issue of global warming and the resulting consequences for our planet. Dion presents a critical discourse on the relationship between nature and civilisation and reveals his long-standing interest in and knowledge of the earth’s eco systems. Informed by his studies of ecology, botany and ethnography, he invites us to take a hard look, not only at the natural environment, but also at our inherited philosophical ideas about nature.

  • Pedestrianised Zone on Suffolk Street

    From Saturday the 2nd of February Dublin City Council are undertaking a 6 week trial creating a Pedestrianised Zone on Suffolk Street with access for Delivery Vehicles only between 6am-11am. Any comments or observations during this trial period can be sent to citycentreprojects@dublincity.ie

  • Polling Scheme 2019

    Dublin City Council adopted a new polling scheme at it's monthly meeting on the 7th January which comes into effect from 15th February 2019.  The polling scheme outlines polling stations for each electoral area within Dublin City
