North Lotts and Grand Canal Dock Strategic Development Zone 

On 18th December, 2012 Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan, T.D. designated lands at North Lotts and Grand Canal Dock in the Dublin Docklands as a Strategic Development Zone (SDZ), and specified Dublin City Council as the Development Agency. The City Council has undertaken wide-ranging consultations to inform and shape the preparation of the SDZ Draft Planning Scheme. Dublin City Development Plan

(Due to an error in Map Ref B46 Proposed Zoning – Sybil Hill Road, Dublin 5 and Map Ref F6 Proposed Zoning – Sandymount Avenue, Dublin 4 which went on public display on Monday, 18th February, 2013, the correct maps will be on public display from 7th March, 2013 and the closing date for receipt of submissions/observations has been extended to 4.30pm on Tuesday, 9th April, 2013)

Arising from the Judgement of the High Court on 27th April, 2012 in relation to the former Z15 Zoning in the City Development Plan 2011 – 2017, the City Council adopted a Proposal for inclusion in the Development Plan to replace those aspects of the Development Plan quashed for the purposes of zoning the former Z15 lands.

Notice is hereby given that the Members of Dublin City Council, at a Special Council Meeting held on 28th January, 2013, having considered the Proposal, following public display, have resolved that the Proposal be amended. The Proposed Amendments constitute a material alteration of the Proposal.

A copy of the Proposed Amendments of the Proposal, together with a schedule of Maps detailing the sites amended for zoning, are available for inspection at the Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 from Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm from Monday, 18th February, 2013 to Tuesday, 9th April, 2013 (both dates inclusive).  

 

 

Heuston & Environs Local Area Plan

Dublin City Council is preparing a Local Area Plan (LAP) for Heuston & Environs.  The purpose of this LAP is to provide enhanced detail on how this area should be developed and managed in a sustainable way to meet the needs of all residents in the area.

Development Contribution Scheme 2013-2015

 

Notice is hereby given that Dublin City Council at its Monthly Meeting of Council held on 3rd December, 2012 made a Development Contribution Scheme in accordance with the provisions of Section 48 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended. Details of the proposed contributions under the Development Contribution Scheme as made for the administrative area of Dublin City Council are as follows:

€93.42 per square metre of industrial/commercial development

 

Residential

 

 

€115.21 per square metre of residential development

The above rates shall be fixed from 1st January 2013 to 31st December 2014. The rate of contributions for the period 1st January 2015 to 31st December 2015 shall be determined at the appropriate time in consideration of any changes in the Tender Price Index in the intervening time. The commencement of the Scheme becomes effective for decisions to grant permission from 1st January, 2013.

Approval for the Grangegorman Strategic Development Zone Planning Scheme

An Bord Pleanála approved the making of a Planning Scheme for the Grangegorman Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) on 2nd May, 2012. A copy of the consolidated Planning Scheme document incorporating the Draft Planning Scheme, April 2011, the modifications adopted by Dublin City Council on 25th July 2011 and the further modifications approved by An Bord Pleanala on 2nd May 2012 has been drawn up by the Grangegorman Development Agency.

Your City, Your Space; Dublin City Public Realm Strategy

Your City, Your Space; Dublin City Public Realm Strategy has now been finalised and adopted by Dublin City Council at its meeting on September 3rd.  The strategy aims to improving Dublin’s attractiveness to those who live, work in or visit the city by agreeing standards for how the public realm  is planned, designed and managed.

Grafton Street Part 8

Dublin City Council’s plans to replace Grafton Street’s brick paving with a new stone paving are now available for viewing.  The City Council will phase the works, which also include plans for new street furniture on Grafton Street, to ensure businesses remain open during the repaving. The proposals include all necessary service, utility and associated site works. Should approval be granted Dublin City Council anticipates that work will begin in May 2013 and finish approximately 14 months later. Dublin City Development Plan 2011-2017

The Dublin City Development Plan sets out policies and objectives to create a sustainable and vibrant city at the heart of the Greater Dublin Region. This plan guides how and where development will take place in the city over the next 6 years.

This plan was adopted by Dublin City Council at a Special adjourned Meeting on 24th November 2010. The plan came into effect on 22nd December 2010.   Find out more about the plan.
