Reminder of NPPR deadline

Dublin City Council would like to remind property owners that if they own a property that is not their principal private residence they may be liable for the Non Principal Private Residence (NPPR) charge.
The NPPR charge was operational between 2009 and 2013. In order to maximise compliance and encourage payment of outstanding NPPR charge arrears, property owners have until Sunday 31st August 2014 to regularise their situation.
If no payment has been made to date, the amount currently outstanding, including penalties, amounts to €4220.00 per property. Property owners who are liable for the NPPR charge are encouraged to agree payment terms with local authorities before Sunday 31st August or further penalties of €3010.00 per property will apply.

Notes to the Editor:
The Local Government (charges) Act 2009, as amended by the Local Government (Household Charge) Act 2011, introduced a €200 annual charge on non principal private residences, payable by the owners to the local authority in whose area the property concerned is located.
