Severe Weather Event Dublin City Council update

Sunday 4th March, 2018.
The Dublin City Council Crisis Management Team met again today Sunday 4th of March at 11am
Traffic and Transportation
The thaw is continuing throughout the Dublin City area and rain has assisted with the clearing of snow. All major routes are clear. Roads crew will now prioritise critical secondary routes.
There have been reports of estates on the west side of the city and elsewhere which remain inaccessible. Roads crews will endeavour to improve access to the worst-affected estates. Other operational staff will focus on clearing pavements in priority areas. 
All modes of public transportation are operating in the Dublin City area but are continuing to have difficulties in surrounding counties.
Vehicles abandoned on roads during the snow are causing blockages for operational crews. Owner should try now to retrieve these vehicles
Flood Risks
Drainage Services staff members are monitoring risks and taking appropriate precautionary measures.
Office Opening
It was confirmed that all offices and services would open tomorrow as expected. Staff with continuing access or other difficulties should inform their supervisors. 
Homeless services 
Winter Emergency beds were at near capacity last night. Staff continue to engage with rough sleepers. 
Owen Keegan, Chief Executive, again thanked all DCC management staff who worked over the last week especially all operational staff and all those working in Emergency Services and volunteers from Civil Defence.
