Sport for all at Bushy Park

Councillor Jim O’Callaghan opened Dublin City Council’s newly refurbished Sports Pavilion at Bushy Park, Terenure on Monday, 21st July, on behalf of the Lord Mayor of Dublin.
The pavilion enhances the sports and recreation facilities provided by the council at Bushy Park.  These facilities include 3 GAA pitches, 5 soccer pitches, 10 tennis courts and a skateboard park.
"The new changing rooms are a wonderful addition to Bushy Park. The very many local clubs and their visiting opponents that use the pitches will now be able to change in comfort. I want to thank all the people involved in the refurbishment of the changing rooms. I also want to acknowledge the very important role played by the City Council Parks Department and the volunteers from all the local clubs who devote so much of their time to keeping children involved and interested in sport," said local councillor Jim O'Callaghan.
The refurbished facility now provides local clubs with four adult changing rooms with en suite communal showers; two junior changing rooms; a referee changing room with shower and toilet; an accessible shower and toilet; male and female toilets; storage room, services room and upgrade of external areas which are universally accessible.
Notes to the Editor:
The refurbished changing facility will benefit a number of local clubs currently using the playing field in Bushy Park. Clubs such as Templegue/Synge Street, St. Kevin’s Hurling Club, Ranelagh Gaels, Terenure FC, Rangers AFC, Rathfarnham Punters, St. Vincent’s Hospital FC and Sandford Athletics.
