As part of the St Patrick’s Festival, Dublin City Council in association with Metropolitan Harriers and St. Brigid’s Athletic Club is promoting the St. Patrick’s Festival 5km Road Race on the morning of Sunday 20th March.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin Gerry Breen, together with the Race Director Eamonn Coughlan, will start the race at 12noon from the Mansion House on Dawson St.  The route will take participants through Georgian Dublin before returning to the finish line at the Mansion House.

Lord Mayor Gerry Breen said

“As a Dubliner I am so proud to be associated with this event.  It’s a great opportunity to run, jog or walk in a race through a section of the city with some of Ireland’s top athletes”.

This event enhances the St Patrick’s Festival and allows participants to take part in a fun event.   While some of Ireland’s leading male and female runners will compete in the race, it is an inclusive event welcoming people of all abilities. There are goody bags for all entrants and a T-shirt for the first 2,000 home.
