Anne Fine Visits Pearse Street Library

Anne FineAuthor Anne Fine visited Pearse Street Library on Thursday, 21st May 2015, where she talked to students from local schools about her work and where she gets her ideas. Her visit formed part of the International Literature Festival Dublin programme.

On Planet FruitcakeAnne has over 50 children's books to her name and among her many accolades she was UK Children's Laureate  and twice winner of the annual Carnegie Medal, in 1989 for' Goggle-Eyes', and in 1992 for 'Flour Babies'. More recently her book 'Blood Family' was shortlisted for the CILIP Carnegie Medal in 2014, while she was longlisted for a UKLA Book Award in 2015.

'On Planet Fruitcake' is Anne's latest book.

Anne Fine was also on the judging panel of the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award in 2010 when Gerbrand Bakker won with 'The Twin'. The Award is an initiative of Dublin City Council and is administered by Dublin City Public Libraries.
