Easter fun at BallymunWith over 30 people in attendance, we had a morning of magic and fun at Ballymun Library last Tuesday, 27th March.  The Easter Bunny paid a surprise visit and left lots of surprises for our junior patrons.

The Baby/Wobbler Book Club met at 11am and read ‘Spot’s First Easter’ by Eric Hill.  We’ve read many books so far about our doggy friend, Spot, including ‘Where’s Spot?’ and ‘Spot Says Goodnight’.  In this story, we joined Spot and his friends as they go on an Easter Egg Hunt together.

Spot's First EasterHappy Easter Tooth FairyThe Toddler Book Club met at 12pm and read ‘Happy Easter, Tooth Fairy!’ by Peter Bently and Garry Parsons.  This story is about the adventures the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny have while organising an Easter egg hunt. After the stories were read, we recited an Easter Bunny chant which went like this:

Easter Bunny Chant
Funny little bunny
Sat on a stump
Flicked his floppy little ears
And then he gave a jump! (Lift your baby/child up)

We finished off the Toddler Book Club session with an Easter egg hunt of our own.  The Easter Bunny left eggs and clues in various secret locations around the Junior Library.  The children had great fun finding the eggs and it was a great way of familiarising all with the layout of the Library.

Please note the Book Clubs will take a break on the 3rd April.  We’ll be back on the 10th April to celebrate ‘Spring Into Storytime’ a national storytelling initiative organised by the Local Government Management Agency.

Due to low attendances, there will no longer be a session for 0-1 year olds at 10am.  Instead, 0-2 year olds will meet at 11am and 2-preschool will meet at 12pm.

See you then!!  All of the staff at Ballymun Library wish you a lovely Easter!!!
