Easter Fun at Ballymun Library!!

Spot! For the month of April, Ballymun Library’s junior book clubs are celebrating ‘Spring Into Storytime’. This is a national storytelling initiative organised by the Local Government Management Agency.  It’s designed to encourage families to read together. With over 40 people in attendance, we had a super morning of magic and fun at Ballymun Library last Tuesday, 16th of April.  The Easter Bunny paid a surprise visit and left lots of surprises for our junior patrons.

The Baby/Wobbler Book Club met at 11am and read ‘Spot’s Easter Surprise’ by Eric Hill.  We’ve read many books so far about our doggy friend, Spot, including ‘Where’s Spot?’ and ‘Spot Says Goodnight’.  In this story, we joined Spot and his friends as they go on an Easter Egg Hunt together.

The Toddler Book Club met at 12pm and read ‘Peppa’s Easter Egg Hunt’.

After the stories were read, we recited an Easter Bunny chant and finished off both sessions with Easter egg hunts of our own.

The Easter Bunny left eggs and clues in various secret locations around the Junior Library.  The children had great fun finding the eggs and the hunt was a clever way of familiarising all with the layout of the Library and its wonderful resources.

Please note the Book Clubs will take a break on the 23rd of April.  We’ll be back on the 30th of April for our final ‘Spring Into Storytime’ sessions at 11am and 12pm.

All of the staff at Ballymun Library wish you a lovely Easter!!!
