Lunchtime Concerts and Talks

Printer-friendly version

The Music Library, which is part of Dublin City Public Libraries, has run a series of lunchtime concerts and talks in the library over the last two years, which usually take place on Thursdays at 1p.m. Concerts so far have averaged one per month, sometimes two.

The concerts have been very successful, attracting large audiences, and feedback has been fantastic. The guest singers are usually students from the various music colleges or other organisations. We have had two members of staff, who sing in their spare time take part on a few occasions.

We've had talks on the "History of Music" and other topics which have gone down a treat. The students who take part get a chance to showcase their talents while members of the public can sample up and coming artists. Concerts and talks are free, the only stipulation is that booking is essential.

If you are interested in attending concerts or talks you should contact the staff in the Music Library via telephone (01) 8734333, email or in person. The Music Library is located in the Central Library, Ilac Centre, Henry Street, Dublin 1.

Do you have any lunchtime concerts suitable for Transition year students.

We have some forthcoming events which would potentially be of interest to Transition Year students, especially if they are students of Music as well. Please visit Music Library events and check back regularly as more events will be added soon. If you have any queries please contact the Music Library T. (01) 8734333, E.
