Swell Night Guaranteed at Dublin City of Literature

Dublinswell is the perfect opportunity to celebrate Dublin’s literary creativity over the St. Patrick’s Festival. It takes place at 7.30pm on Friday 18th March at the Convention Centre Dublin in the Docklands.

Dublinswell is hosted by broadcaster Mike Murphy who will take an audience on a voyage through literary Dublin. The evening features readings from Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney as well as local writers like Dermot Bolger, Roddy Doyle, Paul Howard (Ross O’Carroll Kelly), Paula Meehan and Claire Kilroy. The evening also features music from Mike Scott, Damien Dempsey and others as well as drama from the Abbey Theatre, film extracts and much more.

According to Jane Alger, Director UNESCO City of Literature,

“Dublin is now a UNESCO City of Literature - a permanent designation which honours the city and its writers. Dublinswell is Ireland’s biggest literary event and a perfect opportunity to celebrate our unique literary talent and the St. Patrick’s Festival. It promises to be a wonderful night and a special occasion which draws together a world of Irish talent.”
