Team Dublin Clean-up is back!

Get involved and you could win a €1,000 for your Community

The Lord Mayor, Brendan Carr launched Team Dublin Clean-up on Monday 10th April at 2.30pm at Kirwan Street Cottages in Stoneybatter, Dublin 7.

This year’s Team Dublin Clean-up 2017 is taking place on Good Friday, 14th April, from 11am and 1pm. Following on from a successful clean-up campaign in 2016, Dublin City Council is encouraging residents, community groups, businesses and environmental groups in Dublin to come out and support the clean-up in their local area.  Dublin City Council will provide clean up equipment and remove of all litter collected by the groups taking part.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin Brendan Carr said “I encourage everyone to get involved in this year’s Team Dublin Clean-up. We all love our city so let’s take pride in where we live and help to keep it clean.”

Every year groups across the city carry out huge efforts throughout the year to make their areas clean, attractive and beautiful places to live and visit.  This is an opportunity to coordinate these efforts on one day to showcase the great work being carried out across the city in our various communities.

At least 40 groups have signed up already and some groups have arranged an egg hunt for children along with other treats.  So don’t leave it too late to get involved.  Remember, it’s only for 2 hours on Good Friday and you might even win a prize.

All groups taking part will be entered into the Dublin City Neighbourhoods Competition for their efforts and groups in each area with the best community effort will be in with a chance to win €1,000 for their community at the citywide awards ceremony which will be held in Croke Park in September.  Last year Donnybrook and Phibsborough shared the overall prize for their Team Dublin Clean-up efforts.

To get involved simply contact your local area office who will arrange for you to receive equipment and make sure that all litter and rubbish collected by your group is removed on the day.
