Team Dublin Clean-up is back!

Get involved and you could win a €1,000 for your Community!

Ardmhéara Mícheál Mac Donncha today launched the third annual Team Dublin Clean-up which is taking place on Saturday, 21st April 2018 from 11am and 1pm.

Team Dublin Clean-up encourages residents, community groups, businesses and environmental groups in Dublin to come out and support clean-up events in their local area. Dublin City Council’s local area offices will provide clean up equipment and will remove all litter collected by the groups and this year, the council are making special arrangements for the segregation and collection of plastics as we are all aware of the harm they cause to the environment.

Speaking at the launch, the Ardmhéara said: “I encourage everyone to get involved in this year’s Team Dublin Clean-up. Groups across the city carry out huge efforts throughout the year to make their areas clean, attractive and beautiful places to live and visit. This is an opportunity to coordinate these efforts on one day to showcase the great work being carried out across the city. If we each do a little, we will achieve a lot. Le chéile is féidir linn Cathair níos áille a chruthú.”

Ambassador of National Spring Clean, Sarah McGovern added: “I  have been working with the National Spring Clean for many years and am very excited to be associated Team Dublin Clean-up 2018, particularly as Dublin City Council are concentrating in the segregation of plastics which is causing such problems to our environment.  I am particularly pleased that the Dodder and Canal Action Groups are also cleaning up the rivers and canals on the same day. Together we can make Dublin clean and green.”

All groups taking part will be entered into the Dublin City Neighbourhoods Competition and will be in with a chance to win €1,000 for their community.
