‘Holding It Together Apart’ the website launches

A new website ‘Holding It Together Apart’ aims to help people endure the Covid-19 Restrictions by providing unusual and creative classes for everyone to enjoy while Staying At Home.

Creative Writing, Laughter Yoga, Kids Crafts, Dance, Juggling and Gardening classes are currently on offer and more will be added over the coming days.

Lord Mayor, Tom Brabazon said “Covid-19 is an unprecedented challenge for people staying at home at this time and each day brings new and different stresses. These courses are a lifeline for people at this difficult time and I encourage everyone to check out the website and investigate some very interesting and unusual courses. There is something here for everyone to enjoy.”

Speaking about the project Muirne Bloomer, Artistic Director and Choreographer, said “the project was envisaged as a response to arising needs in the community following the COVID 19 Restrictions. The aim was to develop a range of activities and projects for all ages and backgrounds that were easy to do and could be followed each week. Mental health is at the core of everything we do”.

Further classes will aim to include Yoga, cooking and baking, narrated stories and poems, pandemic pooches (a dog competition), ritual and grieving assistance and new dances.

Holding it Together Apart is brought to you by the creative team of the Dockers and Demons Festival, Declan Hayden, Muirne Bloomer and Aideen Gohery.
