Camino Voyage stillThursday 16 May at 5.30pm at Pearse Street Library

Join us for a free special screening of The Camino Voyage (2018), with an introduction by the film's director Dónal Ó Céilleachair, to celebrate Dublin Boat Rally 2019.

"It takes some class of determination to row all the way from Ireland to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain. It takes more to do so in a traditional naomhóg. Yet four men, poet Sheehy, artist Holden, musician Begley, and stonemason Moriarity, set out to do just that in three gruelling yearly stages, beginning in 2014. Hansard joined them later. O'Céilleachair's film records the journey with care and grace. You'll feel uplifted and a little exhausted by the close. " (The Irish Times, 23/11/18)

Ainhoa, yo no soy esa  (Ainhoa, that’s not me) Spain, 2018. 98 mins. Subtitles in English.  Directed by Carolina Astudillo.

Ainhoa Mata Juanicotena was born into a family that filmed, recorded and photographed her life for many years. In her adolescence, at the end of the eighties, Ainhoa began to write what she did not want to tell anyone. The diaries of life that she kept until her death describe a woman that differs from the one her relatives and friends knew. Intimate diaries that reveal an infinity of themes linked to a feminine experience and that have inspired other women have written throughout history. No matter the geographical or temporal distance, issues, sensations and moods come together. Ainhoa, yo no soy esa is also an alternative account to the official history of the Spain of the nineties, told through the diaries of life of a woman.
