This talk will provide an understanding of the grieving process during Covid 19 with guidance on how to take care of ourselves and support those who are grieving.
Free online events as part of Healthy Ireland at Your Library programme.
Grief affects each of us differently. Coping with the loss of a loved one has been made all the more difficult since the arrival of Covid 19. Restrictions on gatherings mean that those grieving are unable to seek solace amongst family and friends in the traditional ways we previously took for granted. Grief can make one feel isolated in normal times, so under the circumstances it’s especially important to try to feel connected with others.
This talk will provide an overview of coping with grief during Covid-19, with a particular focus on:
• Understanding the grieving process
• How to support someone who is grieving
• Taking care of yourself when grieving
The talk will be facilitated by Breffni McGuinness, National Bereavement Development Specialist with The Irish Hospice Foundation. His special interests are in coping with hidden losses and the use of creativity in working with people who are grieving. He has published a number of articles on bereavement and has developed resources for workplaces on bereavement policies.
Online webinar hosted via Zoom.
