Commemorations Programme 2022
Dublin City Council’s Commemorations Programme for 2022 was designed to focus on one of the most important anniversaries in the Decade of Centenaries - The Irish Civil War.
The varied programme includes:
- The Dublin Festival of History in September will feature online talks on The Irish Civil War and other anniversary events from 1922.
- A series of lectures on the Irish Civil War delivered by the Dublin City Council Historians-in-Residence
2022 Programme Highlights:
Irish Civil War Lecture Series
With the Dublin City Council Historians-in-Residence takes place across Dublin City Libraries during June and July. Each historian will offer their own perspective, based on their own areas of research.

Decade of Commemoration grants
Under its Commemorations Programme Dublin City Council has established a Community Grants Scheme to support community-based groups and community organisations and partnerships, who want to organise dignified and appropriate commemorative events.
Dublin City Council Commemorations Committee
The Arts, Culture, Recreation and Community Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) established a committee on commemorations on 13th October 2014. The Commemorations Committee is chaired by Cllr.
