Lord Mayor of Dublin opens Book of Condolence for Ronnie Delany

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam will open a book of condolence at the Mansion House following the death of Ronnie Delany to allow the people of Dublin pay their respects. 

It will be open on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th  March from 10am to 4pm on both days.  

Ronnie Delany was conferred with the Honorary Freedom of the City of Dublin by then Lord Mayor Catherine Byrne on 5th March 2006.

The Lord Mayor said. “Ronnie’s passing will be felt far beyond the world of athletics. He was part of the fabric of Dublin’s civic and sporting life, and his contribution to our city will not be forgotten. He showed what could be achieved through talent, discipline and belief, and he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire young athletes and proud Dubliners for many years to come. On behalf of the people of Dublin, I extend my sincere sympathies to Ronnie Delany’s family, friends and all who knew and loved him.”
