More than 100 instruments free for teens to borrow at the Dublin City Libraries!
Girls Rock Dublin & Dublin City Libraries have teamed up to offer teenagers a brand new and FREE music gear loan service: the GRD Gear Library!
You can now borrow one of our instruments, amps, pedal effects and accessories just like a book.
Each loan lasts 3 weeks and can be renewed on the phone or by email.
This is the gear that Girls Rock Dublin use for their summer camps, workshops and events and they are excited to be sharing it with you.
The GRD Gear Library operates in Pearse Street Library (Dublin 2) and in Ballyfermot Library (Dublin 10).
How to Borrow
Choose: Browse the gear catalogue and choose the item you want
Call: Call or email the Library branch and mention the code of the item you wish to reserve
Collect: Collect the item from the Library branch
Return: Return the item within 3 weeks or call the Library to extend the rental
Open to teenagers (under 18 years) of all genders, you can view all the gear online and then collect in person at Pearse Street Library or Ballyfermot Library with your library card.
If you haven’t got one yet, joining is easy.
Check the Pearse Street Library webpage and the Ballyfermot Library webpage for contact details, opening times and directions.
If the instrument or other music gear you have borrowed is not working properly or is missing a part, please email [email protected].
The collection is made up of donated instruments from people in the community who value the work of Girls Rock Dublin and purchases made through funding from Reverb.com charity program Reverb Gives and Music Network. Special thanks to MusicMaker and Ernie Ball for donating strings and accessories.
It's is an ongoing project so donations are welcome!
