Over the last few weeks we’ve published a number of blogs on a wonderful resource available to you with your Dublin City membership. The Great Courses offers video-based learning that fits your life. You can watch at a time and place that suits you and learn at your own pace. There’s no homework, no tests, so no pressure.
Today we are going to take a look at a selection of courses designed to help you improve your confidence, knowledge and skills for the workplace. Here’s a selection of what’s on offer and we hope you find something to capture your interest.
Critical Business Skills for Success: Get a comprehensive guide to the five disciplines taught in every MBA: strategy, operations, finance and accounting, organizational behavior, and marketing.
How to Build a Thriving Workplace: A Leader’s Guide: Lead teams that don't just show up at work, but teams that thrive at work because you know how to focus on their well-being.
The Art of Debate: Unpack the structure of a formal debate and apply it to all aspects of your everyday life.
Understanding Nonverbal Communication: Explore the role of nonverbal communication as it relates to understanding other people's worldviews and interaction styles, led by a renowned expert in the field.
The Art of Public Speaking: Learn how to prepare, craft, and deliver a great speech with this unique course that explores the principles of public speaking by examining the greatest speeches from history.
Mastering Stage Presence: How to Present to Any Audience: Send stage fright packing with tips on something that makes all of us uneasy: standing up in front of a crowd.
Each course is taught by experts in their field, and includes a supplementary guide book. You can play, pause, and review information as often as you like. You can access as many courses as you want to for 7 days. After 7 days, simply log in again and get another 7 day’s access. Simply follow the prompts to find Dublin City Libraries, and register with your library card number and PIN. Just remember to put in Dublin City when asked, and not the name of your local library.
If you don’t have a library card at the moment or if you need to renew your library membership, contact your local library and they will help you; see here for more information on library membership; or contact us at [email protected].
We’re always happy to help.
