Science Week events for schools and teachers

Science Week 2021 takes place from the 7th–14th of November.
The focus of Science Week 2021 will be Creating Our Future. Dublin City Libraries Science programme will feature online events with classes from primary level invited to attend by their local library.
On Tuesday 16th November: Walkinstown library and Pembroke library will host Dale Treadwell and his Dinosaur Science. Dale, a well-known ecologist who has appeared many times on children’s TV, will lead his audience on an interactive journey with dinosaurs.
On Wednesday 24th November: Pearse Street library and Raheny library will host Focus on Forces by Anyone4Science. Children will be introduced to the idea of using what they know about science to do difficult jobs.
On Wednesday 24th November and Tuesday 30th November, Charleville Mall and Coolock libraries are delighted to host two new virtual outreach programmes from Dublin Zoo. Charleville Mall Library is offering, Who Lives Here? – Journey to the Rainforest, and Coolock Library is hosting Fur, Feathers, Scales and Tails – Who Am I?
These workshops tie in with the Social Environmental and Scientific Education (SESE) primary curriculum. Zoo teachers will deliver the sessions using video footage and photos from Dublin Zoo, as well as biofacts and a live Q&A session.
