Dublin City Council Bike Week 2023: Get on Your Bike and Join the Fun!

Dublin City Council is proud to announce that Bike Week 2023, the annual national week of celebrating cycling, will take place from 13th – 21st May. During the week, a range of events will take place in Dublin City to promote cycling and encourage Dubliners of all ages and abilities to get on their bikes.
The celebrations will begin on Sunday, May 14th with an Inclusive Cycling Day in the Phoenix Park, a safe environment for children and adults with additional needs to try cycling. Local accessible bike providers will showcase their bikes, including adult three wheelers, companion quad cycles, three-wheeled children's bikes, Driesen wheelchair platform bikes, Cycling Without Age trishaws and tandem bikes.
Other Bike Week events include a Sunset Cycle in the Phoenix Park, offering a car-free 5km route to enjoy the sunset and summer evening while cycling along with summer time tunes; and a bike service clinic in Guild Street offering free bike check-ups for those in need. These events are organised in partnership with Fingal County Council, the OPW and Dublin Cycling Campaign.
The flagship Bike Week event, Pedalpalooza, aims to celebrate and promote the benefits of cycling by hosting various fun activities, including a free family-friendly cycling event for everyone. This year, the Pedalpalooza cycle parade has been added to the event line-up. Cyclists of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join this 5km community cycle led by the Lord Mayor Caroline Conroy. The cycle leaves from Capel Street at 11.30am and finishes in Ringsend Park where participants can enjoy the main Pedalpalooza activities are being held throughout the day from 11am – 4pm.

Community cycling events are a great way to try out cycling in a safe, supportive and fun environment. I encourage Dubliners of all ages and abilities to come along and take part in an event this Bike Week.”
