  • Renewable energy integration
  • Low-carbon heating systems
  • Green infrastructure
  • Sustainable transport options
  • Circular economy principles

Additional community-focused features include:

  • Communal green spaces, public realm, and dedicated playgrounds.
  • Proximity to local schools and crèches, providing essential amenities for families.
  • Excellent transport links to Dublin city centre and surrounding areas, ensuring residents have easy access to employment, education, and amenities.

Construction is expected to commence in Q4 2026, with the first phase of homes expected to be completed in Q4 2028, and the final phase ready in early 2029.

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, said, “Dublin City Council is delighted to partner with the National Development Finance Agency on these transformative housing projects at Collins Avenue, Shangan Road and the former Ready-Mix site on East Wall Road. Delivering 244 high-quality, energy-efficient homes is a major step forward in meeting Dublin’s housing needs — but it is also a statement of renewal. By bringing the former Ready-Mix site back into productive use, we are turning underutilised land into warm, modern homes and building vibrant, sustainable communities where families can put down roots and thrive. This initiative reflects our determination to accelerate housing delivery, raise standards, and ensure more Dubliners can access a safe, secure home in a well-connected neighbourhood.”

Chairperson of Dublin City Council Housing Strategic Policy Committee, Councillor Deirdre Heney, added, "The Housing SPC welcomes this important milestone. These projects demonstrate our commitment to tackling the housing crisis head-on by prioritising quality, sustainability, and community. We are focused on delivering homes that meet the diverse needs of Dublin’s residents, from families to older persons, and ensuring that these developments are integrated into the fabric of the city with excellent amenities and transport links.”
