Dublin City Council would like to invite the public to visit some of its landmark buildings, which it is opening up as part of Open House Dublin 2022.

Running from Friday the 14th to Sunday the 16th of October, the festival will see many of Dublin’s architectural wonders open their doors to the public.

The Council is proud to once again partner with the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) in bringing this fantastic architectural festival to life. With over 150 free tours and exhibitions, the programme provides the ultimate insider access to our city’s most captivating structures and spaces.

Speaking ahead of the festival, Dublin City Architect Ali Grehan said, “Dublin City Council is delighted to be a main supporter of the IAF’s annual Open House Dublin and show our work to the general public. Dublin’s architecture and built environment – old and new - is a vital part of our identity and builds our social, environmental and economic resilience. This year we’re including examples of important new public housing projects delivered directly by DCC. We’re also connecting the work of DCC’s public realm team to climate action and showing our ongoing conservation work on well-loved heritage buildings. We hope Open House participants enjoy the experience and we welcome feedback.”

A number of Dublin City Council locations will be opening up for the festival. They include:

  • The Mansion House
  • Dorset Street Former Fire Station
  • Dominick Street Regeneration Project
  • Sean Foster Place
  • 2-5 Ballybough Road
  • Margaret Kennedy Road and Court

There will also be a walking tour delivered by DCC’s City Architect’s Public Realm Team on how it contributes to climate action, Climate Change and the Public Realm – Walk & Talk Tour

In addition to in-person events, there are a number of site specific films available online. They include:

  • Dolphin House Regeneration
  • Le Fanu Park
  • Pigeon House Power Station
  • Parnell Square

The Council invites the public to experience and enjoy the many architectural delights Open House Dublin 2022 offers. For full programme details and further information, please visit: https://openhousedublin.com
