Dublin City Council has provided local communities around the city with over 30 Christmas trees and their lights are being switched on from late November to mid-December as the festive spirit ramps up across Dublin.

Speaking about the initiative the Lord Mayor of Dublin Caroline Conroy said, “Christmas is a special time that brings local communities together in a positive, joyous atmosphere. Dublin City Council has provided some beautiful trees to get us all in the Christmas mood.”

The City Council’s spectacular ‘Dublin Winter Lights 2022’ were officially switched on two weeks ago and will remain on until January 1st. The Merrion Square Park lights will be open to the public from this Thursday, Dec 1st. For ‘Dublin Winter Lights 2022', the City Council has generators that use hydrotreated vegetable oil as a fuel source for projections and installations, along with localised battery storage power where possible.
