Dublin City Council supporting a Climate Smart Dublin at the Furthr Festival

Dublin City Council will be the headline exhibitor at the Furthr Festival this Friday 21st October at the Convention Centre in Dublin. Features on its exhibition stand, built from sustainable materials, include an artificial intelligence assisted scooter and a battery powered smart bin.

The Council is attending the festival as part of its support for tech, innovation, sustainability, climate action and digital transformation.

The Furhr Festival (previously FutureScope) will attract over 1,600 from the tech and entrepreneurial ecosystems to explore the implications and benefits of emerging technologies.

Incorporating a focus on addressing sustainability and the climate crisis, the Furthr Festival aims to identify collaboration opportunities between start-ups, scale-ups, tech multinationals, innovative Irish enterprise, the research community and investors. 

Business leaders will share insights on the challenges coming down the track & how emerging technologies will impact on business and society. They will also explore the business opportunities arising from transformative technologies and big global challenges.

Commenting on the Furthr Festival the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Caroline Conroy who will be speaking at the event on the city’s ambition for a Climate Smart Dublin said: “Sustainability, innovation and technology are central to Dublin City’s plans for the future. An event such as Furthr Festival is so important in bringing people together to progress the role of innovation and technology in attaining sustainable development designed to improve the lives of our citizens” 

As headline exhibitor at the event, Dublin City Council will have a ground breaking exhibition stand under the title of Climate Smart Dublin designed by sustainable event organiser Native Events.  The exhibition stand has been produced almost exclusively from sustainable and salvaged materials.

A series of panel discussions have also been organised by Dublin City Council including Demystifying the Circular Economy, Funding a Sustainability Strategy, The Smart City of the Future and the winter edition of Profit with Purpose magazine will be launched at this event.
