Lord Mayor Congratulates Dublin City Council Staff on 12 Green Flag Awards
Published on 15th December 2025
The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, has congratulated Dublin City Council staff at a special celebration in Griffith Park, Drumcondra following the achievement of twelve Dublin parks receiving the prestigious Green Flag Award in 2025.
The Green Flag Award is internationally recognised as the benchmark of excellence for parks and green spaces. Each park is assessed against 27 criteria across eight standards, including environmental management, community involvement, and biodiversity protection.
Speaking at the event, Lord Mayor Councillor Ray McAdam said, “I am immensely proud that twelve of Dublin’s parks have once again achieved the Green Flag Award. These awards reflect the dedication of our Parks staff and the commitment of Dublin City Council to providing safe, sustainable, and welcoming green spaces for all. Today’s celebration is about recognising the people behind this success, and I want to thank each and every member of the team for their hard work.”
Leslie Moore, Head of Parks, Biodiversity and Landscape Services, Dublin City Council added, “Each award demonstrates Dublin City Council’s strong commitment to the stewardship of its parks, ongoing investment in amenities and infrastructure, and the protection of biodiversity across the city. This achievement would not be possible without the passion and professionalism of our staff.”
