Today is Team Dublin Clean-Up Day 2022
Published on 30th April 2022
Dublin City Council has today provided gloves, bags and litter pickers for communities all over Dublin taking part in this year’s ‘Team Dublin Clean-Up Day’.
Dublin community, residential, business and environmental groups will be out in force this morning to clean-up Dublin City and all involved are automatically entered in the City Neighbourhoods Competition where they are in with a chance to win €1,000.
Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin, Joe Costello said “The Team Dublin Clean-Up Day is a great occasion for all of us to show community spirit and pride in our neighbourhoods. Clean streets, beaches, rivers, canals and parks make our city so much more attractive and enjoyable. I urge all Dubliners to come out today, do some light cleaning work and meet and greet your neighbours.”
This year, the theme of community pride is at the forefront of the campaign, people of all ages gathering to unite in cleaning their shared green spaces together. Dublin City Council provides the equipment required for the clean-up in advance, free of charge, and all bags will be collected by the Council on the day.
‘Team Dublin Clean-Up Day’ is part of An Taisce’s National Spring Clean 2022, Ireland’s largest and most popular anti-litter initiative. The campaign encourages every sector of society to actively participate and take responsibility for the environment, by conducting clean-ups in their own local areas.
A cleaner greener community is a happier community!
