Liffey Street

The project involves street improvement works to Liffey Street Upper & Lower. The proposals aim to declutter the streetscape while creating a pedestrian-friendly environment through a series of safe and enjoyable public spaces linking the Hal’penny Bridge to Henry Street.
Prioritising the needs of the pedestrian over the vehicle is central to the concept, and pedestrian numbers can be expected to increase once the proposals have been implemented. Planning permission for the scheme was granted in September 2019 and works are due to begin on site in early 2021 and will be completed over a nine month period.
This project is co-funded with €1.2m from the ERDF’s S&E Regional Operational Programme 2014-20 - Designated Urban Centres Grant Scheme and Dublin City Council.
