Pedalpalooza - cycling for all event
Come along to our family-friendly event in Fairview Park on Sunday 12th September

Pedalpalooza is our flagship Bike Week event. It's a family-friendly bike festival, taking place in Fairview Park on Sunday 12th September from 1-5pm.
Pedalpalooza aims to celebrate and promote the benefits of cycling through workshops, guided cycles and fun activities. A wide range of activities, suitable for all ages and abilities, will be held in the park to get people moving and to promote a more sustainable urban mobility culture, such as e-bike and cargo bike demos, information tents, children’s workshops, bike maintenance workshops, and much more!
We are encouraging people to walk or cycle to this event, where possible. Free bike parking will be available in the park.

Guided Cycles
1pm: Guided Cycle to Clontarf promenade
This 7km cycle leaves from Fairview Park and travels along the Clontarf promenade to the wooden bridge. To sign up for this event please complete the online registration.
3pm: Guided Cycle to Royal Canal
This 4km cycle leaves from Fairview Park and brings participants to the new premium cycle route along the Royal Canal. To sign up for this event please complete the online registration.
Cycle Bus Drop-In Session
Throughout the city, cycle busses have been set up by school communities as a way for children to cycle safely to school together. If you’re interested in getting involved in or setting up a cycle bus, come along to this drop-in session. It’s a great chance to meet people who have set them up, hear about their experience and any tips they have for getting started.
Time: 2-3pm
Cycle Fashion Upcycling Workshop
Join our upcycling workshop led by ReCreate. This workshop invites participants to create unique hi-vis jackets by embellishing, chopping, and designing to create their own cycle fashion! We will also encourage creating eye catching decorations for bikes, trailers and children's seats by making flags and streamers. For the adventurous adults in the groups a supply of materials will be available to make their own seat covers. Each participant with a small pack of materials that they can work from during the event and take home afterwards.
Bike Maintenance workshop
We will be joined by the Rediscovery Centre for interactive workshops on bike maintenance and upkeep that the whole family can enjoy! This workshop will be a combination of demonstrations, bike safety checks and hands on activities including; basic rules for nuts and bolts; adjusting saddle height; how to pump up a tyre; finding punctures in an inner tube; checking and tightening brakes and much more!
Pedal-Powered Workshops
Join the pedal-powered workshops run by Pedal Cents. They will be running both spin art sessions and pedal-powered energy challenges throughout the day.
Fitness for Kids
Marcin's Monkeys will join us with a series of fun and energetic fitness workshops for kids. Kids will be able to exercise and practice fitness through a series of engaging and imaginative activities!
Cycling Obstacle Course
A fantastic way for children to learn the rules of the road and how to cycle their bike safely, while having fun and meeting new friends! Learning how to ride a bike properly and carefully is important for children and parent, so that you have peace of mind when they go out on their bikes.
Come and join the Irish Centre for Cycling - they will teach you how to control your bike and the safety measures that are required to be safe on the road, helping you to gain confidence, independence and of course making sure they have lots of fun while doing so!
Yoga in the Park
Whether you are a beginner cyclist or you have been riding a bike for years, it's important to remember to stretch before and after cycling to avoid muscle strains and other injuries.
Everyday Yoga will join us at Pedalpalooza for some outdoor yoga in the park, to show some simple stretches and tips to help people to warm up and cool down when cycling.
Bring your own yoga mat, or use the grass at your yoga mat instead!
Session times: 1 – 2pm and 2.15 – 2.45pm
