C2CC Project: Bus Stop Design
Dublin City Council is proposing a new design for segregated cycle tracks passing bus stops
The C2CC Project will provide one-way segregated cycle facilities on each side of the road through the route. Where the segregated cycle track runs alongside bus stop waiting areas, these areas have been designed based on the concept of island bus stops, with some improvements made to address accessibility concerns. With emphasis on universal design principles, the C2CC Project Bus Stops include a pedestrian priority route to and from the bus stop waiting area that can be located by visually impaired users using guidance tactile, and that is more suitable for vulnerable users, wheelchair users and those with prams or buggies. An advertisement campaign will be run to communicate and promote the proper use of these bus stop areas, and to encourage courtesy between users. The document below explains the design of the bus stops along the route in more detail.
