It will improve walking and cycling facilities, and provide safe crossings along a 3.8km route that extends from Dolphin Road at the junction with Slievenamon Road, to Grand Parade at the junction with Leeson Street. Construction on this project commenced in June 2022 with works being carried out by SIAC Construction on behalf of Dublin City Council. Unfortunately completion of the project was delayed due to the collapse and Liquidation of SIAC Construction in summer 2023. Two new contractors, Actavo Ltd and SIAC Bituminous Products were appointed after a public tender process was carried out. Works recommenced in March 2024 on a reduced program of works. The project is due to be completed by the end of summer 2024.
