Lord Mayor calls for random acts of kindness as part of new campaign
Published on 10th April 2024
The Lord Mayor of Dublin Daithí de Róiste is calling on all schools throughout Dublin City to take part in his ‘Kindness Heroes’ initiative.
He wants pupils to carry out random acts of kindness during the week of the 15th of April to 19th of April 2024.
The Lord Mayor of Dublin Daithí de Róiste said, “In a world that feels at times unkind, a gesture of a random act of kindness can add joy or a smile or make someone’s day even better. This will reduce stress, improves our emotional well-being and even benefits our physical health. In short, doing good does you good. A random act of kinds is giving your best self to others without request or a promise in return.”
Kindness is, in many ways, one of the most important human traits. Acts of kindness serve to spread happiness, improve friendships and improve the mood of all parties involved.
Schools can nominate their ‘Kindness Heroes’ and the winning heroes will be chosen by the Lord Mayor and invited to the Mansion House, where he will present them with a certificate.
The Lord Mayor would also love to hear about your acts of Kindness by tagging him on any of his social media channels: Instagram @lordmayorofdublin, X @lordmayorofdublin, Facebook @lordmayorofdublin
