As part of the ongoing Clontarf to City Centre Scheme roadworks are proposed to progress onto St Aidan`s Park Road with a temporary one-way system to be installed.
Clontarf to City Centre Scheme works are progressing at the bottom of Malahide Road. It is now intended to progress with the raised pedestrian crossing at the bottom of St. Aidan`s Park Road and Marino Crescent. The detail at this location is similar to what has been installed at other side roads along the Scheme. Essentially the footpath is to be continued across the road so that pedestrians will have greater comfort to cross. Please see attached sketch which I hope assists with an understanding of the proposed final layout (1st attachment) at St. Aidan`s park Road and at Marino Crescent.
In order to construct the new raised crossing at St. Aidan`s Park Road the road is to be reduced to a one-way system with traffic entering Marino from the Malahide Road side via this route. The Contractor can then install the raised ramp and footway in one half at a time. We appreciate that there might be some inconvenience for residents as they may need to change their route to exit the Marino area. We shall endeavour to progress with the works as quickly as is possible to reduce duration of the impact.
Included for reference is the traffic management layout for St. Aidan`s Park Road. Signage and VMS boards shall be erected to advise of routes.
It is proposed to install this one-way system on St. Aidan`s Park Road on Thursday 25th April at 10:00 with a target reopening date of Friday evening 10th May.
