Dublin City Council has adopted its Corporate Plan for the period 2010 to 2014. It sets out the core values of the City Council, high level business objectives to be achieved during the five year period of the Plan and strategies for the delivery of the objectives.

International Women’s Day, held annually on 8th March, is an international day of celebration where thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements.

Dublin City Council will celebrate the contribution of women to the civic life of Dublin City with a programme of events throughout March 2010.

Important Notice - Disruption of Water Supply Tuesday 23rd March 2010 

Dublin City Council advises that due to essential works there will be disruption to water supply resulting in no water or a reduction in service on Tuesday 23rd March 2010 in the following areas:

  • From Cappagh Cross to Ratoath Road to Ballymun Road
  • From Ballymun to Dundaniel Road
  • From Glasnevin Avenue to the Old Finglas Road
  • Pelletstown, Finglas West, Finglas South, Ballycoolin Road, Glasnevin Avenue, Glasanaon, Santry, parts of Ballymun, Swords Road, Coolock Lane and surrounding areas

Dublin City Council are providing a number of mobile tankers in the area and also two stationary water tankers at the following locations:

  • Shopping Centre, Finglas Road
  • Shopping Centre, Omni Park, Swords Road

Dublin City Council apologises for the inconvenience caused. With your co-operation and understanding we hope to keep the disruption to a minimum.

 

Draft Dublin City Development Plan 2011 -2017 Public Display

Dublin City Council has prepared a Draft City Development Plan for the City of Dublin. The Draft Plan is accompanied by an Environmental Report and an Appropriate Assessment.

The Draft Plan is on public display until Friday,12th March, 2010.

Obligations on Third Parties under the provisions of the Local Elections (Disclosure of Donations and Expenditure) Act 1999

“Third Party” is defined in the legislation as “any person, other than a political party registered in the Register of Political Parties under Part III of the Electoral Act 1992 or a candidate at an election, who accepts, in a particular year, a donation the value of which exceeds €126.97 (£100).


Individuals or organisations within the administrative area of Dublin City Council who consider that the above provisions may apply to them must make a return to: Mr. Vincent Norton, City Manager’s Department, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8.

New Bin Charges for 2010

Dublin City Council provides a rubbish and waste collection service to city residents, as follows:

  • Grey wheelie bin: For non-recyclable rubbish and other waste
  • Green wheelie bin: For dry recyclable rubbish and waste, including plastics
  • Brown wheelie bin: For organic waste, e.g. food and light garden waste
  • Eurobin: For all waste.  These large skip-like bins are often used for apartment buildings
