Water Conservation Tips

Due to the severe shortage of water people are asked to STOP using water for washing driveways, cars, foot paths and non essential uses and also follow the water conservation tips below:

  • Only use washing machines when you have a full load
  • Only use dish washers when absolutely full or not at all
  • Take a shorter shower
  • Do not use power showers
  • If you have a modern toilet flush facility use it properly
  • Do not leave the tap running when brushing your teeth
  • Do not leave your tap running before filling your kettle
  • Only flush the toilet when necessary

Chinese New Year Tiger to put a spring back in our step

Dublin City Council and Dublin Chinese New Year Festival (DCNYF) are delighted to launch the 2010 Festival.  DCNYF is a week long festival rich in Chinese culture, heritage and entertainment with the aim of promoting Sino – Irish Relations. The Festival runs from 12-21st February at several locations throughout the city.

New Speed Limit Bye-Laws for Dublin City

New speed limits recently approved by the City Council will come into operation on 31st January 2010. The main feature of the new speed limits is the expansion of the city centre 30kph special speed limit zone.

 

 

Obligations on Third Parties under the provisions of the Local Elections (Disclosure of Donations and Expenditure) Act 1999

“Third Party” is defined in the legislation as “any person, other than a political party registered in the Register of Political Parties under Part III of the Electoral Act 1992 or a candidate at an election, who accepts, in a particular year, a donation the value of which exceeds €126.97 (£100).


Individuals or organisations within the administrative area of Dublin City Council who consider that the above provisions may apply to them must make a return to: Mr. Vincent Norton, City Manager’s Department, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8.

Dublin City Council has prepared a Draft City Development Plan for the City of Dublin. The Draft Plan is accompanied by an Environmental Report and an Appropriate Assessment.

The Draft Plan is on public display until Friday,12th March, 2010.
