Pride of Place Competition

Held in the highest regard, our treasured possessions are the things that we most want others to see and appreciate as much as we do. For some, it’s the china on display in the cabinet, or the crystal clock on the mantle, that take pride of place. For others, it’s the neighbourhood where they live.

The ‘Pride of Place’ Competition is geared towards such civic minded people. Co-operation Ireland and Dublin City Council are proud to present once again this prestigious all island competition, to celebrate community contributions to local society and the creation of civic pride.

The competition acknowledges the fantastic selfless work being done by people in communities all over the island of Ireland. It fosters viable, vibrant and visible communities. It also recognises the efforts being made to create communities for the future whilst respecting the heritage and culture of the past. Finally, it gives Dublin City Council a further opportunity to participate in the heart of our communities because we recognise that in addition to providing essential services, we also have a responsibility to build communities. Entry to the competition is by way of council nomination only.
