OUR OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
Many factors influence the Council’s work, from legislation and funding to climate change and the decisions of elected Councillors.
Comprising 63 Elected Members, whose term of office commenced in June 2024, the City Council is the only democratically elected body representing the people of Dublin City.
Together with more than 6,000 staff members, the City Council provides a wide and diverse range of more than 900 discrete services to the citizens of Dublin, to businesses and to visitors to the city.
Our operating environment is continually changing, and the City Council has to adapt and change in response.
