The Dublin Metropolitan Climate Action Regional Office
The Dublin Metropolitan Climate Action Regional Office (CARO) supports and coordinates climate action undertaken by the four Local Authorities of South Dublin, Fingal, Dun Laoghaire‐Rathdown, Dublin City.
DCC is the lead authority in the region. Dublin CARO is based in the Civic Offices. The office is funded by the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications.
Dublin CARO supports and coordinates all actions across both climate mitigation and adaptation the Dublin Metropolitan region.
The office is one of four regional offices, the others are: Atlantic Seaboard North, Eastern and Midlands and Atlantic Seaboard South. The four offices work together coordinating and supporting local government to lead transformative change and measurable climate action across our cities and counties. They were initially established in 2018 to support the preparation and delivery of Local Authority Adaptation Strategies, enable engagement across sectoral adaptation plans and to coordinate climate action undertaken by the sector.
