We are very grateful to have had Dr. Sylvie Kleinman speak to us about Daniel O'Connell and Dublin City Council as part of the Dublin Transcription Project's webinar series.

Dr. Sylvie Kleinman is a professional historian and Visiting Research Fellow at the Dept of History, Trinity College, where she taught courses in European and Irish history, including 'Ireland in the Age of Daniel O'Connell'. She also taught at UCD, has spoken at the National Library of Ireland on visual representations and cartoons of Daniel O'Connell.

In 2017, Dr. Kleinman’s essay ‘Where Crown met Town: The Presence of Lay Catholics and Daniel O’Connell, the Uncrowned Monarch of Ireland in the Chamber of Dublin Castle, c. 1795–1845’ was published by Irish Academic Press in Myles Campbell & William Derham, eds., Making Majesty The Throne Room at Dublin Castle a Cultural History (Dublin, OPW & Irish Academic Press, 2017), 160-199.
