If you are a soccer fan or if you just love sport in general, there are loads of books on Borrowbox that may be of interest to you. If you are soccer crazy like me, then you can delve into the history of players or clubs. Here is a selection of what is available on Liverpool F.C. and its players.
Founded in 1892, the club joined the Football League the following year and has played at Anfield since its formation. For much of Liverpool's history its home colours have been all red, but when the club was founded, its kit was more like the contemporary Everton kit. The blue and white quartered shirts were used until 1894, when the club adopted the city's colour of red. The club's anthem is, You'll Never Walk Alone.
Klopp was appointed manager of Liverpool in 2015. He guided the club to successive UEFA Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019, winning the latter to secure his first – and Liverpool's sixth – title in the competition. Klopp's Liverpool won the 2019–20 Premier League and he was awarded FIFA Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2020.
Mohamed Salah joined Liverpool on 22 June 2017 for an initial fee of £36.5m. He helped Liverpool win the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League. In his third season with Liverpool, he helped end the club's thirty year league title drought by winning the 2019–20 Premier League.
Kevin Keegan joined Liverpool in 1971. At Liverpool, he won three First Division titles, the UEFA Cup twice, the FA Cup and the European Cup. He made two hundred thirty appearances for Liverpool and scored sixty-eight goals for the club.
Steven Gerrard is the only footballer to score in an FA Cup Final, a League Cup Final, a UEFA Cup Final and a UEFA Champions League Final, winning on each occasion. He won a total of two FA Cups, three League Cups, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Super Cup.
Peter Crouch played for Liverpool from 2005-2008 and he scored forty goals in one hundred thirty-two games during his time there. His book invites you to take a trip inside the life of a footballer. The book details experiences with well-known players and managers and there are stories about dressing room superstitions and post-match interviews.
