Yellow Weather Warning

Published on 30th January 2026

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rain Warning for Dublin, valid from 12:00 Friday 30/01/26 to 00:00 Saturday 31/01/26. Further periods of heavy rainfall are expected on already saturated ground. Dublin City Council’s Flood Management Team continues to prepare for adverse weather conditions and related impacts throughout today (Friday 30th Jan) and into the weekend. Car parks at Clontarf have been closed today as a precaution. They will be reopened tomorrow morning Saturday 31/01/26. Crews remain active across the city, responding to issues as they arise, and the evolving situation will continue to be monitored closely.

DCC is monitoring river levels closely as rainfall continues, to ensure appropriate responses as required. Dublin City Council maintains a limited supply of sandbags at strategic locations for use in response to identified flooding risks. These resources are deployed by the Council where required, with priority given to critical infrastructure and locations assessed as being at immediate risk. For urgent flooding issues during working hours, please contact DCC Customer Services on 01 222 2222. For urgent issues outside normal working hours, the DCC Out of Hours Team can be reached at 01 222 3150. Further updates will issue as conditions develop.
