Dog Fouling Initiative
Dublin City Council is committed to combating dog fouling through various initiatives, including providing free doggie bags, arranging signage and audio visual messages to promote responsible ownership. Dublin City Council also promote the Green Dog Walker initiative to encourage all dog owners and dog walkers to be responsible and pick up after their dogs immediately and “Bag it and Bin it” so that they can contribute to a cleaner and healthier city for everyone.
Dublin City Council are core members of “Leave No Trace Ireland who carried out a Behaviour and Attitudes survey on dog fouling on behalf of DCC. The results can be seen below.
Green Dog Walker Initiative
Green Dog Walkers Initiative is a friendly way to change attititudes about dog fouling. To take part in the project you take a pledge volunteering to accept a Green Dog Walkers armband/bag dispenser and pledge to take part by cleaning up after your dog, carry extra dog bags to give to other dog walkers and at no time be aggressive or confrontational.
To be part of the initiative, you are asked to take a pledge volunteering to accept a Green Dog Walkers armband/bag dispenser, to clean-up after your dog, to carry extra dog bags to give to other dog walkers and to at no time be aggressive or confrontational when walking your dog.
