‘Be Sound’ Campaign

‘Be Sound’ Road Safety Campaign

Dublin City Council’s ongoing ‘Be Sound’ communications campaign reminds all road users to be respectful of each other and to prioritise safety when driving, walking, wheeling or cycling on the city’s streets. The campaign kicked off in January 2025 and was renewed as ‘Be Sound this Summer’ in July 2025.

The campaign coincides with Dublin City Council’s delivery of the 314km Active Travel Network, which aims to transform how people travel in the city by expanding its walk‑wheel‑cycle infrastructure. The ‘Be Sound’ campaign encourages everyone to stay alert and considerate on Dublin’s busy streets so people can feel safer choosing more sustainable modes of transport.

The campaign has been delivered through a mix of digital content, radio advertising and billboard advertising.

‘Be Sound this Summer’

‘Be Sound this Summer’ featured a series of short, snappy social media videos showcasing characters such as the Lane Hog, the Dangerous Dasher and the Light Breaker.
