Sandyford Clonskeagh to Charlemont Street Permanent Scheme

The second stage of the Sandyford Clonskeagh to Charlemont Street (SC2C) Active Travel Scheme will provide 3km of permanent high-quality walking, wheeling and cycling facilities. This stage is currently in the Detailed Design and Procurement phase.

The permanent SC2C scheme will be delivered in three phases:

  • Phase 1: Clonskeagh Bridge to Woodstock Gardens.
  • Phase 2: Charlemont Street to Mander’s Terrace (Ranelagh Luas Bridge).
  • Phase 3: Ranelagh Village from Mander’s Terrace to Woodstock Gardens.

Together, these three phases will provide:

  • 3km of footpath improvements and segregated cycle facilities.
  • Significant urban realm improvements.
  • 38 new trees with 18 existing trees to be removed.
  • 11 new junction upgrades.
  • 17 new pedestrian crossings.
