Hugh Lane Gallery breaks records with 135 thousand people visiting Warhol exhibition

Dublin City Council is delighted to announce that almost 135,000 people visited the Hugh Lane Gallery during the recent ‘Andy Warhol Three Times Out’ exhibition, the highest visitor count in the gallery’s history.
The exhibition took place from October 6th to January 28th and was both the largest Warhol exhibition ever in this country and the first of its kind in 25 years.
Visitors came from Ireland, United Kingdom, Europe, USA & the rest of the world to see the prestigious exhibition which featured over 250 works from one of the most important and celebrated artists of the 20th century.
On average 1,500 visitors attended the gallery each day, and free entry on Wednesday mornings proved to be a big attraction with +6,500 visitors availing of this offer. Since October, Hugh Lane Gallery welcomed +450 guided tours and +13,000 participants of all ages to the gallery for Education & community outreach programs including artist-led workshops, talks and schools programs.

The Warhol exhibition brought a great buzz to the city this winter, attracting both Domestic and International visitors to Dublin.
