Lord Mayor’s Awards 2024 recipients honoured for their contribution to Dublin Society

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Daithí de Róiste will present four individuals and four organisations with a Lord Mayor’s Award at a reception tonight in the Round Room at the Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2. Media are invited from 6:30pm to 7:00pm for a photocall at the Mansion House and interview opportunities.
The recipients of the Lord Mayor’s Awards 2024 are:

- Hannah Tyrrell
- Julian de Spáinn
- Michael Cardiff
- Glen Hansard and The Busk
- Dublin Comhaltas Ceoltóiri Éireann
- The Stone Soup Project
- AsIAm
Speaking about the Awards Lord Mayor Daithí de Róiste said, “This year I have chosen recipients in the fields of sport, music, community work, Irish language promotion and Autism advocacy. These are people and groups who make Dublin a special place to live in and I am honoured to be able to publicly acknowledge them and their achievements tonight and to thank them on behalf of the people of Dublin for their contribution to this great city.”
Since 1989, this annual award ceremony is an opportunity for the Lord Mayor to highlight and acknowledge, in a special way, achievements of both individuals and groups.
Previous winners of the Award include Jim Gavin, Ronnie Delaney, Dave Fanning, Maeve Binchy, Scouting Ireland, Merchant’s Quay Ireland, Marty Whelan, Brian O’Driscoll, Adi Roche, Capuchin Day Centre, Joe Duffy, Philly McMahon, Damien Dempsey and Jimmy Magee.
