Supporting Business Tourism
Dublin city is well regarded internationally and is rated highly across a number of measures from city growth through to governance.
However, we are competing against other cities so we need to learn from, and adopt international best practice and strengthen our international standing. As part of the Council’s mission to generate economic and business tourism benefits, the International Relations Unit supports conferences hosted in the city. In particular, conferences that attract a large number of international visitors who demonstrate the potential to generate economic, social or cultural benefits to the city, help promote the city globally and support the tourism, hotel and hospitality sector in the city.
The Council collaborates with our city partners Dublin Convention Bureau and Failte Ireland to attract business conferences and events to Dublin and with Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, IDA, Enterprise Ireland, Embassies and business associations to organise and deliver overseas trade missions designed to develop economic, social and cultural links and projects.
